Background of the Photograph
This photograph of a large mass of ice was taken on the south coast of Iceland in December of 2017 by Kyler Badten.
Iceland's glaciers uncover stories of the past, but also heed warning for a potentially abysmal future. Rising global temperatures attributed to climate change have dramatically altered the scapes of Europe's most magnificent glaciers, melting away around 11 billion ton of glacial ice annually.
